well this is the quests page – look lets just save the melodrama, its mobile game daily quests. if you watch enough advertisements you can get cat ears on your discord pfp, which, as we are all aware, indicates that youre basically marilyn monroe and everyone should think you are cool

one has to wonder what the endgame is with this. and obviously, the answer is money. we are witnessing a beautiful thing called Leveraging A Monopoly. every discord user is so inextricably at home in discord that moving platforms is little more than a pipe dream for any individual.

so without the threat of users filtering out, the discord corporation is free to shove whatever they like down our throats. NOT SEXY. every ad they run to us, and every nitro subscription they snag, is money in their pockets and in the pockets of their shareholders.

discord doesn’t sell public shares, but wikipedia says they have a couple investors, notably including Tencent, the international investment company who have their fingers in every pie this side of the sun.

so basically this isnt going to stop happening. we can expect a torrent of garbage to be delivered to our doorsteps tri-monthly, courteously and diligently supplied by discord.

there IS the option of moving… more on that another day 😉
