“Spunka” Munar Program

AIM: Boots and flags on the Mun.

LOG 1, JEB: Everyone’s psyched up about this. I had the krew do a rehearsal of the landing in the parking lot.

LOG 2, VAL: Mun rocket test flight. Bill, Bob, and I are officially the first three greenies in space. We’re taking readings and from up here the space center peninsula is looking beautiful. See you down there after reentry.

LOG 3, BILL: It was a smooth flight, but could use some more thrust. I’ll see what I can get the board to approve.

LOG 4, JEB: Alright, the time has come. Pilot Valentina Kerman, engineer Bill Kerman, and scientist Bob Kerman are atop the stack, ready for launch. Godspeed, Krew. Bring home those cheese samples.

LOG 6, VAL: The launch was successful and we’re en-route to the Mun. Hi Mom, I’m on TV! Once we’re in orbit, Bill and Bob will take a little trip to the surface and do nerd stuff.

LOG 7, BILL: The landscape is bright and endless. It feels as though we were always meant to come here, as if every moment has led up to this. All is peaceful and silent on the Mun.

We’ll try to be home in time for tea.

LOG 8, VAL: Splashdown just 10km south of the KSC. That’s why I’m the best.

POST, JEB: We have only just begun to display our potential as a space agency. The scientific gains from this expedition will propel us further into the Kerbolar system.

AIM: Drive the BIK 2001 Munar Rover to different sites of interest on the Mun.

LOG 1 / Y1D13 / VAL: Jeb and I took the BIK for a spin up and down the runway. The interns will be removing it from the swimming pool.

LOG 2 / Y1D16 / NAUS KERMAN: Rover successfully deployed to the Mun. Now I can go home and study for my SATs!

LOG 3 / Y1D22 / KATHBO KERMAN: Val and I have driven the rover to a nearby crater. We’re witnessing an eclipse by Kerbin. It’s so quiet, and we’re all alone out here.

LOG 4 / Y1D23 / VAL: That took forever!! It was fun for a little while, I guess. Next time we make a rover it’ll need to be twice as rugged. Data recovered from the Mun crater.

GENERAL LOG / Y1D24 / JEB: Pressure is mounting as the population of Kerbin realize the potential for space exploration. We’re going to need to rush our schedules to keep up. It’s a difficult position to be in as director of the KSED.

RUMM (Relay for Unmanned Munar Missions) AIM: Launch a relay probe orbiting the Mun, using the new Kotyonok standardized launch vehicle.
