so yeah i have no idea what the lyrics are about but they sound pretty angsty.. they fill that kind of niche that songs often do for me where the meaning is obscured enough that i can apply the lyrics to whichever character i want, or even myself on a bad day i guess xD

but when it comes to thank you scientist the music overall is what i’m here for. i agonized for like a full hour over which song from stranger heads prevail i was gonna pick. i usually listen to the full album front to back: its a composed, continuous experience that i highly recommend for your next commute.

as soon as caverns starts, TYS put their time signature chops on display. a few of their songs have me totally stumped when it comes to counting along xD notable mention to psychopomp!! hoooly shit they have some magic going on. but these songs are headbangers either way.

they carry from all these gritty little 5:8 riffs or whatever to like, hard 4 on the floor emo metal seamlessly. one of those bands where if you pay attention to any individual instrument you’ll be impressed both by their individual skill and the skill of the composer/s.
