jam of the week: Betty Dreams of Green Men, by Guerilla Toss

[Verse 1]
Tucked inside the pocket
Satin little rabbit
Velvet silk memento
Visitation relic

[Pre-Chorus]
Rising up high into the tunnel
She was taken in by the creature
Telepathic talking and I can’t kick it
Unusually calming, transcend habit

[Chorus]
Do not call me, do not say my name
Waiting for the alien okay
Do not call me, do not say my name
Waiting for the alien okay
Do not call me, do not say my name
Waiting for the alien okay
Do not call me, do not say my name
Waiting for the alien okay

[Verse 2]
Betty dreams of green men
Taken now and again
A faint sound of a humming
It’s a twin to nothing

[Pre-Chorus]
A bizarre light seen from the future
Watching changes within the skyline
Telepathic talking and I can’t kick it
Unusually calming, transcend habit

[Chorus x3]
Do not call me, do not say my name
Waiting for the alien okay
Do not call me, do not say my name
Waiting for the alien okay
Do not call me, do not say my name
Waiting for the alien okay
Do not call me, do not say my name
Waiting for the alien okay

this is a verified gneep gnorp beat.. dig the groovy bassline. its also living proof taht pretty much every song is improved by the presence of bongos, which is probably counterintuitive if you only listen to the radio, but its true 😛

i feel like this tangentially shares a space with all the lesbian punk bands just because of the instrumentality and the singing (see: bikini kill, dazey and the scouts, the oozes). maybe this is a lesbian punk band and im just literally not aware of it.

anyway thats all on this one! reccs always welcome btw
