hi!! today was pretty good so i wanted to talk about it.
in the morning i did some drawing. ive been making a zine about megastructures, BLAME style, and its almost done so ill probs upload it here and also distribute some copies to those of u in melbourne. lots of 3d modelling too 8D
i went out on my bike to get groceries and ran into some dudes from VIC socialists, got along with them pretty well so i might be hitting up a book club soon. after that i pretty much came home , and uh..
so ive been trying to troubleshoot my throttle and joystick so i can play nuclear option for like 3-4 days intermittently and i finally cracked it today. hooooly SHIT the euphoria. troubleshooting is often slow, painful, and can feel hopeless but that only makes it that much more rewarding. you should have seen the look on my face dog.
i had to do something with the energy so i went for another ride and climbed a tree out by the creek. ENRICHING.
but yeah the fix was something to do with how steam translates input from USB devices when it’s running Windows games through Proton. not gonna bore u with the details, but having solved it i feel like ive just got a new crest in silksong u know like i float of fthe ground and start glowing and go FSSHH SSHHKLING and the game is like BOUND A CREST: YOU NOW KNOW DARK SECRETS ABOUT INPUT PROCESSING IN LINUX/PROTON.
whenever someone talks about issues like this i feel like its mosquito spray for anyone looking to migrate to linux, but i maintain that it’s a better time than windows even with the occasional troubleshooting. never have i ever: had cloud storage advertised to me in my file browser.
its worth noting that im really taking the high road here, when i run into an issue i usually hack away at it until its gone no matter what. you dont always have to do that. you can just like, not play nuclear option with a fucking joystick, or dual boot into windows or something. i also run unconventional setups, like i don’t have a desktop, i run Debian without a lot of the bells and whistles. theres a good chunk of issues i would not face if i was still on Linux Mint or Ubuntu for example.
also if you move to linux ill probably have solved every issue youll run into at least once and you can call me beep me if you wanna reach me. LINUX IS GOOD. what was i talking about again?
i hope some of you had even a fraction of my saturday vibes, ive really been enjoying everyones company lately!! au revoir uwu
